The fifth entry in the original Hardy Boys series finds the detectives heading out west to Montana to help their father round up a gang of outlaws. Originally written in the twenties, it was updated to this version in the late fifties. Even for being so old (the lack of modern tech is the only thing that really dates it), it stands up very well. It's exciting and engaging and doesn't lag. Also, despite being a kid's book, it's still very adult friendly. A must for fans of the series and possibly the best one yet.

I had started this book years ago at a friends house but never finished it. I checked out this copy but it is NOT the original story .... it is updated with airplanes rather than the original with trains. So I didn't continue my read and will wait to visit my friend's house again to finish the original.
